Sanford harmony/ character education
Sanford:
Meet up Buddy Up: Students partner together to complete different discussion topics, games and challenges. Can be done daily 5-10 minutes.
Lessons: Each grade level has four units of study that include games, read alouds and activities for students.
Unit 1- Diversity and Inclusion
Unit 2- Empathy and Critical Thinking
Unit 3- Communication
Unit 4- Problem Solving
Unit 5- Peer Relationships
Research Connections: Each unit is tied to research-based practices for the topic. In the research connections sections of the units you can read more about the science behind the lessons
Character Ed:
6 character traits: Respect, Acceptance, Kindness, Integrity, Responsibility, Perseverance
Cash in on Great Character Program: Students receive Buzz Bucks for demonstrating role model behavior. Buzz bucks are placed into classroom Buzz Bank and a ticket is pulled weekly by the teacher. In addition, one ticket is pulled at the end of the month and students receive a “hive prize” from Mrs. Evans
Buzzworthy Student Recognition Program: One girl and one boy from each grade level are nominated by their grade level teaching team to be recognized at the board meeting for demonstrating “Buzzworthy” behavior connected to our 6 character traits (12 students from each grade level for the year.)
